Why Skaters and Coaches Choose Global Synthetic Ice
Ice time is scarce, expensive and scheduled around everyone else. A skater who can stroke, spin and repeat jump entries between sessions simply gets more repetitions in. Here is what we bring to that.
Seam-Tight Surface
Panels lock on every edge, so seams stay tight. A toe pick finds a gap the moment there is one.
Made and Run by Us
We manufacture the panels and have run our own rinks for more than 20 years. Advice from use, not theory.
Straight Answers
Real ice glides more easily, and we say so. You get plain answers on feel, sharpening and care before you buy.
Custom Cut to Your Space
We cut your rink to fit your room, from a corner at home to a club floor, with a free layout and an itemized quote.
Where Will You Train?
A figure skating synthetic ice rink is a floor of interlocking polymer panels you skate on with regular figure skates, with no water and no refrigeration. Put it at home, in your club, or inside an existing rink. You install it, and we’re with you the whole way.
At Home
Surface, free layout design and guidance. You do the build, with our installation videos.
Clubs and Facilities
A standalone off-ice space, or a surface inside an existing rink, so skaters keep working while the main sheet is booked.
What That Training Looks Like
A sample 30-minute session. Your coach knows your program, so treat this as a starting shape, not a prescription. It’s a training surface, not a replacement for your rink time. It’s how you get the repetitions between sessions.
Built for Performers Too
World-class figure skaters and former Olympians who still perform in shows skate on our ice. Ice shows, synchro teams and choreographers all need the same thing: repetitions in the space they actually perform in.
Block the Choreography
Walk through a routine on a surface cut to the footprint of your stage or studio, then take it to the ice.
Teams and Groups
Run patterns, spacing and transitions with the whole team, on a surface cut to the size of your room.
Rehearse Between Shows
Keep edges, spins and program sections sharp when rink time is booked, or when the venue is not a rink at all.

Skates need to be sharp; sharpen more often

Real ice glides more easily, and we won’t pretend otherwise. Synthetic is denser, so it rewards good technique, and
many skaters use that on purpose to build strength, balance and edge control.

Questions From Skaters and Coaches
Straight answers on feel, blades, space and care.
Close, with slightly more resistance. Most skaters adapt within a session or two. Real ice glides more easily; synthetic is denser, so it rewards good technique.
Skaters train edges, spins, jump entries and landings on it.
Skates need to be sharp, and you’ll sharpen more often than if you only skate on ice.
No. It’s a training surface, not a replacement. Keep your rink sessions and use the surface for repetitions between them. Your coach can help you decide how to split the time.
No. Skate in the figure skates you already own.
Orders start at six panels, 96 square feet, for example 8′ × 12′. Above that, the surface is whatever shape and size your space allows. Your free layout shows exactly how it fits.
Yes. A surface cut to your room lets teams, casts and choreographers run patterns, spacing and transitions between rink sessions.
Yes. Unused rooms, mezzanines, lobbies and storage areas all work. A synthetic ice training room lets skaters keep working while the main sheet is booked.
On any flat, smooth, level, hard surface, indoors or out: a garage, basement, shed, patio, driveway or deck. Panels can’t go directly on grass. Tell us about your space and we’ll tell you what it needs.
You do. Panels lock together by hand, and our installation videos, layout design and support team are there for every step.
Every panel carries a 7-year warranty against manufacturing defects. We’ve never had a warranty claim.
The price depends on your space, whether it’s indoors or out, and any add-ons. Every layout is different, so we don’t publish a price list. We quote after we design your free layout: send us your space and we’ll send you both.

Yes. Global Synthetic Ice is the company, Super-Glide® is our surface platform, and SLICK is its current generation. Same people, same factory.

Photos, rough measurements and the date you’d like to open are enough. We’ll come back with a layout drawing, an options list and a quote — at no charge.
