Put a rink where people already gather.

Two ways to do it. Buy the rink and run it yourself, or hand us the dates and we’ll handle everything. We’ve been doing both for 25 years – we manufacture the panels, and we’ve operated our own rinks for more than 20 years.

TWO WAYS TO PUT A RINK TO WORK

Same surface either way. The difference is who runs it.

You own the rink

Buy it turnkey, install it, and keep the revenue. Best for malls, downtowns, parks departments, resorts, schools, and event companies building out their own rental inventory. Runs season after season with no refrigeration, no ice plant, and no utility bill.

We bring the rink

Tell us the dates and the space. We deliver, install, and remove it. Best for festivals, grand openings, brand activations, corporate parties, and holiday programming.

Own the asset. Keep the revenue.

A synthetic ice rink is a fixed cost once and an attraction every season after. There’s no refrigeration plant, no chiller, no water, and no compressor bill – the surface works the same at 90°F as it does at 20°F, indoors or out. Skaters wear real skates with real steel blades.

We’ll design the layout for your space at no charge before you commit to anything. Send us dimensions and we’ll send back a plan showing exactly what fits.

Shopping centers and mixed-use properties

A rink pulls dwell time and foot traffic into the months when you need it most, and it reads as a destination rather than a kiosk.

Cities and parks departments

Community skating without an ice plant, a refrigeration budget, or a climate that cooperates. Sets up in a plaza, a park, a rec center, or a parking lot.

Resorts, venues, and campuses

An amenity guests photograph. Works on a lawn, a pool deck, a ballroom floor, or a tennis court.

Event and rental companies

Add a rink to your inventory and rent it out yourself. You already have the crew, the clients, and the trucks - this is the piece nobody in your market has.

We ship worldwide. Turnkey rink packages go anywhere. We design the layout for your space, ship the complete package, and support your team through install and operation.

You pick the dates. We handle the rest.

For events that need a rink for a weekend, a month, or a full holiday season, we deliver, install, operate, and remove it. You get the attraction without owning the asset or training a crew.

WHY IT SKATES: THE SURFACE IS THE PRODUCT

Most rental rinks are a floor with a barrier around it. Global Synthetic Ice builds the surface itself, and the seams are where skating surfaces usually fail. A joint that opens up, lifts or catches a blade ends the session for a first-timer.

STAFFED RENTALS

A rink is more than a surface.

Most of what makes a rink work is everything around the panels. Whichever path you take, this is the full kit.

Skating surface

Super-Glide panels in our current SLICK generation. Interlocking, no adhesive, no subfloor required on a flat surface.

Barrier system

Solid white dasher boards for a classic rink feel, or open picket fence for sightlines and a softer look in a retail or park setting.

Synthetic ice rink in a basement with white boards and a goalie target

Entry gates

Controlled in and out, so you can manage sessions and count skaters.

Skate fleet

Figure and hockey skates across the full size range, toddler through adult.

Skate aids

Walker-style supports so first-timers and small kids stay upright - the single biggest driver of repeat sessions.

Rental shack

Skate check-in, POS, and staff shelter.

Turf and seating

Perimeter turf, benches, and lacing areas that turn the rink into a place people linger.

Lighting and decor

String lighting, trees, garland, and seasonal dressing.

Signage

Entry signage, rules, pricing, and hours.

RENT IT: YOU PICK THE DATES, WE RUN THE RINK

For a weekend, a month or a full holiday season, we deliver, install, operate and remove the rink. You get a surface people actually enjoy skating on, without owning it or training a crew.

PLANNING A HOLIDAY RINK?

The winter season fills up well before winter. The earlier you reach out, the more say you have in size, layout and dates.

EVERY EVENT IS DIFFERENT

Timeline, crew and setup depend on the space and the run. Send us the details and we will scope it around what you need.

The rink can pay for itself.

Every rink has a few hundred linear feet of barrier facing your skaters, your spectators, and every phone in the crowd. That’s sellable inventory. A single presenting sponsor or a handful of panel sponsors can offset a meaningful share of what the rink costs to run – and sponsors like it because the impressions come with dwell time, not a drive-by.

We build the barrier panels to take branded graphics, and we can produce them with your sponsor artwork. Cities, malls, and downtown associations use this to turn a seasonal attraction into a program that funds itself.

If it's flat, it's a rink.

Our rinks install on concrete, asphalt, pavers, grass, turf, gym floors, ballroom carpet, and rooftop decks.
No water, no refrigeration, no drainage.

More than synthetic ice. Decades of rink experience.

Most companies in this category sell you panels. We manufacture the surface, and we’ve spent more than 20 years operating our own rinks – taking tickets, sizing skates, resurfacing at close, and fixing what breaks on a Saturday in December.

That’s why the advice you get here is different. We know how long a session should run, how many skate aids you need per hundred skaters, where the rental shack should sit relative to the entry gate, and what a crew of three can actually turn over in an hour. When we hand you a rink, we hand you the operating knowledge with it.

THE QUESTIONS EVERYONE ASKS

These are the searches Glice and Xtraice already rank for. Answer them properly and mark the block up with FAQ schema.

How much does it cost to rent an ice rink?

It depends on the size, the length of the run, the site, and whether you want it staffed. We price every project individually rather than publishing a rate card. Send us your dates and footprint and we'll give you a real number.

How big does the space need to be?

Rinks start at a six-panel minimum and go up from there in any dimensions you need. Panels are nominally 4' x 4'. Send us the space - including obstacles - and we'll design a layout around it for free.

Does synthetic ice work outdoors in warm weather?

Yes. There's no refrigeration involved, so heat, humidity, and direct sun don't affect it. We run rinks outdoors year-round, including in hot, humid climates in the middle of summer.

Do skaters use real ice skates?

Yes - real skates with real steel blades. Blades need sharpening more often than on frozen ice, which is a normal part of operating the rink.

What does the surface sit on?

Any reasonably flat, firm surface: concrete, asphalt, packed grass, turf, gym floor, or ballroom carpet. No water, no drainage, no power to the surface itself.

What do you need from me to get started?

The space - dimensions, surface type, and anything in the way like columns, curbs, or a slope. Photos help. From there we design the layout and scope the rest around your timeline.

Can I buy a rink and rent it out myself?

That's one of the two ways people work with us. You buy the package, you keep the rental revenue. We'll walk your team through setup, operations, and maintenance.

How long does a rink last?

The surface is dual-sided - flip the panels when the first side has worn, which roughly doubles the usable life. With normal maintenance, a rink is a multi-season asset rather than a consumable.

Where do you deliver?

We sell and ship turnkey rink packages worldwide. Rentals - where our crew delivers, installs, and runs the rink for you - are available throughout North America.

Tell us about the space and the dates.

We’ll come back with a layout, an equipment list, and a quote. No cost, no obligation.
